Introduction

Oxford United Girls Centre of Excellence (10s to 16s) was formed in 2007, followed by the full integration of an  Education & Academy pathway (16s to 19s) and our Women’s team (16 plus) in 2008.

In 2009 as a club we put a detailed and documented Vison in place with clear set targets within a five year Strategy, Plan as shown below for our Female Development Program.

The 2009 to 2014 Vision of Oxford United Football Club’s Female Development Program was to recognise, recruit, develop and produce talented young local players. Who will incorporate Oxford United`s Footballing Philosophy along with giving all players a detailed development coaching programme and feedback. The staff  will be focused and committed on the needs of both the individuals and teams to achieve our set targets of 3 promotions to reach the FA Women’s Premier League using 50% of home grown players.

Reward on the pitch was as early as the first year in 2008 giving our 2007 Centre players the first exit route into the Women’s team and gaining their first Promotion, follow by two more promotions in 2011-2012 & 2012-2013 which allowed the club to achieve all set targets set out in our Vison.

Our off the field target was to adopt an active community participation and support, through the Club’s affiliation with individuals, local teams, businesses and organisations building a more stable future for the Female Development Program.

For 2016-2017 Oxford United has been granted a license to run a Regional Talent Club Tier 1, this program develops teams at Under 6 (Future Stars), Under 8 (Future Stars), Under 10, Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16 levels, we will also continue our pathway with our Advance Education Sixth Form and Oxford United Women's WSL providing opportunities for the girls to progress further. The RTC itself draws on the skills and experience of a variety of people from Oxford United including the coaching, medical, welfare and administrative staff.
